This detail from a
Casuarina , commonly called a she-oak (though she-oaks look like pines), was so startling, I thought at first glance that a snake had shed its skin in the scrawny 1.5 metre sapling.
Oh lord, Anna, what a gorgeou image this one is! Not sure what it is about it, but it is striking!
