No, but the fossil was picked up that day on the beach. The watch is an old one that the fossil reminded me of. I found the watch also, in exactly the state pictured. I've never cleaned it. That is the cord that was on the watch when found, and a spider that had attached itself and died, on the cord. There's also another spider that didn't show. It is about one-tenth the size of this spider. This picture is a cropped version of a larger picture that I took. If you'd like to see the bigger picture that encompasses all of it (but that minimises the spider's importance) I'll post it, too. Of course, this one I posted might be one picture too much!
