The most haikuable tea tree

Tea Tree (Leptospermum)

Such a fortunate distribution — the many varieties of Leptospermum aren't natives of the Old or "New" world, but live down here in Australia. They are each so beautiful, in the character of bark, twist of limbs, and delicacy of bud, bloom, and seedpods  that they'd be poetised to clichĂ©, and bred to crass conformity.

Nightfall

Never before have I seen the curtain fall, but last night it descended quickly upon a garishly lit and lively sky. Whether day was done or not, moon came to no aid, so there were no curtain calls.
